My primary goal is to lose weight and build up my stamina. I want to be healthier so I can live a longer life. An obvious goal is to keep that lost weight off.
I have tried many methods of weight loss. Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Protein Shakes, and even diet pills and exercise. All of them have provided some success. Some of them more beneficial than others. I wasn't successful with any of them when it came to keeping off the weight loss.
Ed's recent medical issues have once again sparked my interest in Bariatric weight loss surgery. I have done a lot of research on the various methods, their success rates, the costs and yes, even the possible complications. I even attended a Seminar at Gateway Hospital with Ed several years ago. I was not impressed with their methods of acquiring medical insurance approval. There was no one there to guide you through the myriad of prerequisites, evaluations or even providing guidance on where to even begin.
I have discussed this desire to learn more about the weight loss surgery and the pros and cons many times with my therapist who helps me cope with my anxiety, panic and depression. She was immediately supportive and recently urged me to rekindle my research using Centennial Hospital in Nashville.
I immediately began conducting internet searches and gathering information on Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery at the Centennial Center for the Treatment for Obesity. By filling out a few short forms online, I received an email from a wonderful Insurance coordinator who has started helping me through all the steps necessary to make the proper decision, get the insurance approval and even provided me with step by step instructions on what to do and when. She has already spoken with our insurance company and gathered all the necessary prerequisites to get approval.
I will profile those items in my next post.
